Craniotomy

A craniotomy is a surgical procedure in which a surgeon temporarily removes a small section of the skull to access the brain. It may be done to treat conditions such as brain tumors, bleeding, aneurysms, infections, or injuries. After the procedure, the bone is usually placed back into position and secured while the scalp heals. Recovery time varies depending on the reason for surgery and the patient’s overall health.
