Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF)

ACDF is a surgery in the front of the neck that removes a damaged disc and relieves pressure on the spinal cord or nerves. After the disc is removed, the surrounding bones are fused together to stabilize the spine. It is commonly used to treat neck pain, arm pain, or weakness caused by nerve compression. A small bone graft or implant is placed to help the bones heal together. The goal is to relieve symptoms and stabilize the neck.
