Annular Closure (Barricaid)

Annular closure with a Barricaid device is performed after disc removal to help close the outer layer of the disc. This reduces the risk of the disc re-herniating. It is typically used in selected patients undergoing discectomy. The device acts as a barrier to protect the nerve space. The goal is to improve long-term surgical success.
